Mental Health First Aid Courses

One in four people will experience a mental health condition at some point in their life—making Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training valuable for everyone.

I have delivered MHFA courses in schools, colleges, and community settings, supporting teaching staff, students, football coaches, players, parents, youth workers, and retreat centre staff.

The course raises awareness, reduces stigma, and equips people with the confidence to support others. Its impact is wide-reaching and relevant across many environments.

There are three youth MHFA courses that I deliver. The course is aimed at anyone who may be involved with, or planning to work with young people aged 8 – 25 years.

The course can be either:
– ½ day (4 hours) Awareness
– 1 day (8 hours) Champion ( this can be split into 2 x 4 hour sessions)
– 2 day (2 x 8hours) this is also possible to split.

An overview of the course content can be found here.

The MHFA course is an excellent space for building knowledge and understanding, and a safe space for discussion, and provides a comprehensive resource guide for each attendee. The cost includes a comprehensive course reference manual, workbook and certificate.

“I loved this course! The resources we were given on the day were superb. Sue was extremely knowledgeable, but not over-bearing and gave everyone plenty of opportunity to contribute to discussions and ask questions. The course was well-paced and although a mentally draining day, came away inspired. Thank you!” (NHS business manager)

“Fantastic course, I work in a primary school with year 6 children and I will take the skills that I learnt today and use them in my work. Sue delivered the course excellently and made me feel very comfortable enabling me to engage with others and get involved in group discussions. Thank you ” (Primary school teacher)
